Work through six short steps and your story builds itself as you type, with a story check that shows what’s ready. Shown here with the built-in example.

Who it’s for

Communications officers, program managers and M&E teams at NGOs and donor-funded projects who need to turn results into stories, often on a deadline and with a reporting template waiting.

How it works

  1. The person: who the story is about, in their own setting.
  2. Before: the challenge they faced.
  3. The turning point: what your program did.
  4. After: what changed, with a number.
  5. In their words: one real quote.
  6. Finishing touches: a headline (with suggestions), a photo and credits.

As you type, the story builds itself on a print-ready page, with the key result highlighted and the quote pulled out. A built-in story check flags what donors look for and what’s missing: a named person, a clear before, a number in the result, a direct quote, the right length, and confirmed consent.

Why I built it

In development programs, the results are often strong but the stories are weak: a list of activities, no real person, no number and no voice. This tool puts the structure that works into a simple form, so anyone on the team can produce a story worth sending. It’s free, works in English and Arabic, and stores nothing: everything you type stays in your browser.
